Wanda's daily life

Hi, I’m Wanda! I’m originally from China and currently a graduate student at Teachers College, Columbia University, in New York. Between school, work, and figuring out my next steps, my days can easily turn into a long to-do list. I’m starting this blog to make a little space for the things that don’t come with a deadline—the moments, ideas, and experiences I want to remember. Think of Wanda’s Area as a place to get to know me beyond my résumé or social media highlights. Here’s how Gemeni think my figure is:

Here, I’ll share bits of my everyday life, from navigating graduate school and exploring New York to personal style, food, and whatever has caught my attention lately. Having studied and worked in both China and the United States, I’m also interested in how different environments shape the way we think and connect with people. My background is in education and economics, so questions about learning tend to follow me outside the classroom, too. A conversation with a friend or something I see online can leave me thinking just as much as a class discussion. This blog will give me somewhere to explore those thoughts.

I don’t want this to be a space where I pretend to have everything figured out. I’d rather share what I’m trying, what surprises me, and what I’m still working through. Through writing, I hope to notice more in my everyday life and learn from the people who stop by. Whether you’re another student, someone living between cultures, or just curious about my corner of the world, you’re welcome here. Let’s start with a question: what’s one small thing from your week that you’d like to remember?
